In October 2022, the current Council for the City of Duncan was elected, consisting of the Mayor and six Councillors.

The Term for this Council is October 2022 – October 2026.

The Community Charter and Local Government Act give Council the statutory authority to do such things as provide services, set budgets, levy taxes, and establish policies of the City for the benefit and protection of its citizens.  Rules governing the conduct of the Council meetings are outlined in the Council Procedure Bylaw and Robert’s Rules of Order. In their role as Council, they collectively develop policies through the adoption of bylaws and  passing of resolutions.

Strategic Plan

A Strategic Plan defines the business of the organization, clarifies its preferred future and identifies strategic priorities. It is used to inform decision-making and guide actions to respond to the needs and interests of the community. The Strategic Plan informs the City’s operational work plan and is used for assessing performance and progress on a quarterly basis.
